People face all sorts of critical decisions centered around their most sacred assets, their home or business. Unfortunately, it is difficult for people to get straight honest answers and often times people are misled by individuals who have an agenda of some sort.
We provide unbiased advice, support and counsel for our clients using a lifetime of experience as designers, contractors/builders, project managers, coastal and hillside development specialists, and property marketing professionals.
We draw upon the expertise of a consortium of trusted resources established over a lifetime in California, Idaho, and the West Coast; architects, designers, engineers, geologists, surveyors, contractors, inspectors, project managers, stagers, realtors, landscapers, security experts, accountants, lawyers, mortgage and insurance agents and other experienced home service professionals.
Time and time again clients have found that investing in an independent advocate and experienced professional to help guide them through a myriad of decisions and processes regarding their home or business is invaluable. They save time, money and spare themselves and their family/employees the emotional roller coaster that comes from facing issues surrounding their homes or businesses and the consequences of bad, uninformed decisions.
Often clients are so emotionally attached to a property that it becomes difficult to separate themselves enough so that they can be rational and objective about decisions they are faced with. We help clients cope and work toward positive thinking and outcomes.
We have a way of changing one’s perspective on how to handle a situation.
I became passionate about homes, building and design at an early age.
My “uncle” was well known Los Angeles architect, Craig Elwood, and I was influenced at a young age by his art and architecture as well as notable architects like Richard Neutra, Frank Gehry, Frank Lloyd Wright, Schindler, Charles Eames, Eldon Davis, Quincy Jones, Robert Graham, John Lautner, Paul Williams, Richard Meir, and others.
Growing up in Southern California my parents designed and built two spectacular architectural oceanfront homes. I was there every step of the way in my early teens helping with project management and my Mother’s interior design work. I learned about construction at an early age from the very best.
Concurrently, I grew up in the packaging industry. My stepfather was a pioneering packaging manufacturing entreprenuer and I would go on to establish a career as a designer, marketer, and supplier of retail and food packaging.
My ability to visualize space and design practical and functional packaging proved invaluable as I transitioned later in my life into designing and redesigning homes. I was inspired to do so by Debra Donnelly, a life long interior designer and stager following a successful 14 year career at ABC. She convinced me a home was the ultimate package and together we went on to stage, design and remodel hundreds of homes and spaces.
My family included several known psychotherapists and authors who raised and mentored me. From a young age I had a unique acumen and ability to connect with people and help them work through issues. My interest in human behavior fostered a career as a designer of spaces that became known for their practical and functional design and creative and thoughtful use of space.
My overall experience and understanding of design, architecture, engineering, geology, construction, accounting and management uniquely qualifies me to be an advocate and helpful resources today for people facing decisions about their home.
Outside of work I have spent a lifetime serving my local California and Idaho communities as a appointed commissioner and as a former or current board member of many non-profits including the American Red Cross, American Cancer Society, Santa Monica Police Department, Police Activities League, YMCA, SHARE, Santa Monica Parks Foundation, Crossroads Community Foundation/PS Arts, Institute of Packaging Professionals, UCLA Alumni Association, RAND Policy Circle, California Restaurant Association Virginia Avenue Park, Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation, Padres El Cancer, Santa Monica PTA, and more.
" I was inspired from an early age by my Mother who has a incredible eye and design acumen and from whom I learned so much about practical spaces."
